The Department of Budget and Management has confirmed a ₱145.56-billion funding commitment for the Central Mindanao High Standard Highway Construction Project, one of the region's largest single road investments. The expressway-grade corridor is designed to dramatically cut travel time between Cagayan de Oro City and Malaybalay City in Bukidnon, connecting the coastal metropolis with the agricultural heartland of Central Mindanao. The route forms a key segment of the broader Mindanao high-standard highway network, complementing the 422-kilometer Mindanao Transport Connectivity Improvement Project that links CDO, Davao, and General Santos. By upgrading the CDO–Malaybalay axis to modern highway standards, the government aims to move goods faster, decongest existing arterials, and unlock underdeveloped inland municipalities for investment and settlement.
Real Estate Outlook
Land along the CDO–Malaybalay corridor stands to benefit most, with previously remote Bukidnon parcels gaining access to a metro market. Investors should watch interchange sites and township-scale plays where agri-industrial demand and residential migration converge for early value appreciation.
